Detox & Brighten Powdered Clay Mask
For combination / oily skin
This make‑it‑yourself dry clay blend lets you be your own alchemist at home. Inside each jar is a carefully balanced mixture of clays and botanicals designed to help draw out everyday buildup, balance excess oil, minimise the appearance of pores, and leave your skin looking bright and freshly revived.
This is no normal clay mask. With our base formula, the options can extend to your wildest dreams: keep it simple with water, or customise each mix to suit exactly how your skin feels that day.
How to Use
The simplest way to use this clay:
Spoon out your desired amount of powder into a small bowl (about 1-2 teaspoons)
Slowly add warm water, stirring until you reach a “just‑thinner than desired” mask consistency.
Let the mixture sit in the bowl for around 10–15 minutes to fully develop and hydrate.
Apply a thin, even layer to clean skin.
Leave on for 5–8 minutes. Do not let it fully crack or feel uncomfortably tight. Mist or pat with wet towel if needed.
Rinse gently with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Follow with your usual serum and a light moisturiser. Use as needed, but no more than twice a week.
Customise Your Ritual
You can go a step further and add additional ingredients, depending on what you have at home and what your skin needs:
Green tea – for an antioxidant boost and extra clarity
Warm milk – for a creamier, softening mask with gentle lactic acid
Facial oils – 1–2 drops (our Oil of Awen pairs beautifully) to add nourishment and reduce dryness
Honey – for a touch of humectant hydration and natural softness
Mix any of these with the clay in place of, or alongside, water to create your own bespoke treatment.
What’s Inside
A blend of clays and natural powders chosen to support combination and oily skin:
Ghassoul clay – Gently draws out excess oil and impurities while leaving the skin softer and smoother.
Pink clay – Balances and refines without being overly drying; ideal for combination and mildly sensitive areas.
Kaolin clay – A soft, gentle clay that helps lift away impurities and excess oil without stripping the skin.
Milk powder – Adds a creamy feel and a touch of lactic acid to help smooth and brighten while subtly conditioning.
Hibiscus powder – Naturally rich in gentle fruit acids and antioxidants to promote a fresher, more radiant look.
Colloidal oatmeal – Soothing and comforting, it helps to calm the skin and support the moisture barrier during and after masking.
Calendula powder – Known for its calming, comforting properties; ideal for skin that’s prone to redness or the occasional blemish.
Rosehip granules – Provide a very gentle polish as you rinse, helping to refine texture and boost glow when used with a light touch.
This dry mask base is designed to be flexible, intuitive, and playful. Use it straight from the jar for a quick weekly detox, or layer in your favourite pantry and skincare additions to create a little at‑home ritual that feels both grounding and indulgent.
